570 cm wide platforms from Poland to Norway
RoV platforms from Poland for a newly building cable-layer of Prysmian. Cable-layer is being built at VARD Søviknes in Norway.
A scope of supply includes: RoV platforms, L-hatches, hydraulic platforms, and supplementary equipment. The largest L-hatch was of 570×570 cm which created a transport challenge.
That was a strategic delivery for our customer, and therefore even more strategic for us. Generally the logistics of such dimensions to Norway is straightforward – it cannot be delivered by trucks, it should go by sea. Moreover the Consignee is a shipyard, which sure has suitable infrastructure to get cargo from ship.
Delivery from place of production in Poland to port of loading was not so easy task as it involved authorities negotiations, escort vehicles and even demolition of street furniture.
Additionally we had to do with time constraints – we had no buffer at all. Delay in production on the one hand, and deadline for delivery on the other – it’s so common.
For sea transportation part a large liner ship was involved, that helped to reduce the transit time and delivery costs as well. Thanks to reliability and responsibility of our agents we have managed to coordinate transportation at every stage and deliver the equipment in time
